Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 24cm
Snowfall at base this season 214cm
Posted on Sunday 7th January 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
We got some snow overnight, which is always a happy event and especially welcome this year. I see just over 20cm here at the base of Akakan, but it also seems like the snowfall wasn't consistent across the region; some resorts are not reporting any real change in snow depth.
This isn't the end, though (well, it shouldn't be, according to the forecasts), so I hope all the areas get a good cover of fresh snow.
