Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 1291cm
Posted on Tuesday 6th March 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
We got the rain, we got the wind, but we didn’t get the heavy snow some sites were predicting. It’s basically dust on crust today, with the soft snow of the weekend now hard and just 4 cm of ice pellets and soft hail on top.
Not a great day off the piste, for sure, although it could be just fine on the courses.
The wind is occasionally kicking up as well, so, as always, watch for lift closures.
There is snow falling, but it’s pretty small soft hail and ice pellets, and not building up very quickly... Sunny tomorrow? That might be nice….
Then rain again Thursday and Friday? Not such good news.
