New snowfall at base 13cm
Snowfall at base this season 370cm

Woke early this morning to the sound of rain dripping off the roof (we tend to wake early during snow season; the sound of bulldozers in the neighborhood are my alarm clock).
By 7 this morning, though, this had changed to a pretty solid fall of wet snow. Nice, big flakes, but pretty compressible snow - not exactly champagne powder, but still really welcome.
In fact, for the backcountry we could really use a big fall of heavy snow to bend those small trees and vines down and get them ready for a mid-winter sleep. It is bushy out there now, almost impassable in many areas. Not fun when you can't make consecutive turns.
