New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 219cm

Posted on Wednesday 31st December 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Waiting for the snow; a little bit started to fall in the early morning, it’s bright with a bit of sun now but it looks like we’ll be getting snow through the day today at least.

I took a family drive along the coast to Toyama yesterday (big box store and year-end fun shopping) and it was really raining and blowing along the coast. I had hoped that storm was bringing snow to the high country, but things were actually calm and dry on the return. It was kind of fun to see the power out over the ocean, though, that brings the big snows to this part of the world.

We do need it. There are some pretty thin spots out there where lots of people are sliding.

Ah, the smell of dirt and snow....
