Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 11cm
Snowfall at base this season 289cm

Posted on Thursday 29th December 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

A nice sunny day after a solid day of snow; we added about 10cm after yesterday's report as snow continued to come down during the day.

Even though it's sunny, it was a good cold overnight (see today's temps!), bringing sparkling hoar to the surface of the snow - the areas of new snow are beautiful and sparkling this morning.

The forecast promises more snow overnight tonight.
