Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

Snowfall at base this season 1664cm

Posted on Sunday 27th March 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Not a pleasant way to end the season for at least five of the resorts. Fog and rain, not cold but almost no visibility.

It's kind of illustrative of the entire season; lots of snow, great conditions, not a lot of people. There wasn't much rain or wind during the season; the snow conditions have been consistently good at least up until the last few days.

Not much more to say for today. If you're here skiing, I applaud your dedication to this most wonderful outside activity (and that includes boarders, or course).
