New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 577cm
Posted on Saturday 27th January 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
A tiny addition to the snowpack, as really light snow continued to fall all through yesterday and into today. Nice light stuff, too, on top of a fairly well settled base of new snow.
If you're not used to skiing in a lot of heavy powder, take it easy out in the backcountry, too! Myoko powder is a nice, firm-bodied, creamy material, not ankle-deep, super light stuff, and we have had some injuries and rescues in the past two weeks.
Enjoy the views, get used to the snow and say hello to the trees.
Not much else, except that it's staying cold despite clearing up a bit today, which makes for a great day on the slopes or above on the mountain. We do have some warmer weather (maybe rain again?) later this week. Hope that changes, because snow will follow again. Hope that expands!
