Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 40cm
Snowfall at base this season 254cm

Posted on Monday 27th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Snow keeps on a'fallin (I have no idea why I wanted to write that...just feels good when the snow is really coming down and the conditions just get better). Another 40cm or so since yesterday; it's quiet now but the forecast is for more heavy stuff into tomorrow. Yes, clearing all the snow is tough (it's a war...an ongoing battle), but you start to take pride in clearing things up very nicely and then getting out into the deep and bounce around. Must be a real local now (well, it's been long enough).

All the main lifts are running now, so I'll just note where things aren't operating or something else comes up.
