Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 13cm
Snowfall at base this season 903cm

Posted on Saturday 22nd January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Clear and cold last night as the snow slowly stopped. Beautiful big, sparkly snowflakes to end that great big fall. A nice end to the latest storm cycle. Kind of glad to have a break in clearing snow, too. You get that much snow and, if you have a few places to keep under control, you can feel like you're constantly just barely staying ahead of buried windows and overloaded roofs (see yesterdays report).

And it is beautiful out there... I think a day of skiing is in order, once my report is up for our dear readers, more of whom I wish were here for the great snow this year.
