New snowfall at base 24cm
Snowfall at base this season 1067cm

Posted on Thursday 19th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Bluebird yesterday.

Nice and cold earlier this morning, as I got out to do some snow throwing with my trusty Peter (the local name for the snowthrowers; don’t know why but it seems to be just here and down to Joetsu City by the ocean).

Not a huge amount of fresh, but maybe there will be more up high to make backcountry a little more fun. Should be great on the resorts, so I’m out now to take in a bit of it myself; hope the resorts are reporting early.

I’m pleased that a lot of them do have new information up before 8 am. You’d think, right?
