Exciting weather in Myoko. Very dynamic; couldn't be more changeable. It was warm yesterday, with spring-like conditions and stickiness under the skis.
Went to Arai for dinner, and on the return at about 8:30 the car's outside thermometer was reading 18°C. Big lightning flashes above Mt. Myoko and increasing rain as we got closer to the Akakura area. A little cooler up at base level, but still 11°. Then wind overnight, and blowing snow by early morning. Not a whole lot fell, but it was stuck on everything facing north. Wet rain turned to ice and topped off with small ice pellet snow which turned into soft hail by 7am.
It's still snowing, and the wind is still blowing, so hopefully we'll get a little more to reset the snowpack a bit. Once again, though, it's not going to last and we'll have sun and warmer temps again shortly.
