Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 35cm
Snowfall at base this season 339cm

Posted on Saturday 13th January 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

A nice fall of good, heavy snow (hopefully the kind that will help make the backcountry accessible soon; it's still very brushy out there), not huge, but some forecasts show heavier snowfall later in the day.

The cycles ahead look like they'll repeat what we've seen: one day of snow, one (or more) days of sun.

I wish it would fall for several days in a row, kind of what we would normally expect from your winter in Myoko....
