Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 2cm

Posted on Wednesday 7th December 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Ah, snow. Don't we just love it. And there's never enough is there, especially in this tense early-season period as we all eagerly await enough for the lifts to start moving...

And this morning there's snow on the ground here. Not as much as we would like (see above!), but good to see things looking whiter once again. Looking around for information from the resorts and I notice that Hakuba 47 were reporting 10cm of base up at the top gondola station during the day yesterday.

There is a lot of cloud around this morning but it is not snowing and we might see clearer skies as the day progresses. There is a chance of more snowfall tonight and then from Friday into the weekend.

Take a deep breath, and let's take it day by day together!
