Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 782cm

Posted on Monday 5th May 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Greetings from Hakuba on this Children's Day national holiday.

After an uncharacteristically chilly day yesterday, it looks like it should be a nice day weather wise and a little warmer.

All Happo-one lifts are tagged as being 'on hold' early morning due to what they report as being windy conditions up top. Hopefully that will change and they will be able to open.

The lifts at the other ski areas seem to be scheduled to open as planned (at time of this report).

Tomorrow is the last day of the season for all four of the ski areas that remain open. Forecasts tell us to expect cloud and rain in the afternoon.

My last report, too.

On Wednesday morning, I plan to sleep in and be completely lazy until lunchtime! Can you tell I'm looking forward to that. :)
