Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 348cm

Posted on Monday 3rd March 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Lots of cloud around this morning along with generally poor visibility on higher slopes, and some snow as well. The numbers available from resorts have been posted below, so up to 5cm or so in places. I would say lighter snow than we had yesterday as well. It's not due to last much today though with a clear up expected and clearer and milder conditions tomorrow. After that some decent snowfall on the mountains going into Wednesday (staring off as rain at village level?) and then colder again in the later part of the week. Not very clear cut, so we'll just have to see what we are served up.
