Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 109cm

Posted on Sunday 30th December 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Some more fresh snow to report to you this Sunday morning. Resorts are generally reporting up to 5-10cm on the mountain and I can record 5cm to the reports.

It's cold this morning and a bit windy - wind seems to be affecting some upper lifts at (at least) Happo-one and Tsugaike Kogen at the start of the day. Need to keep an eye on that if you are out today and get wrapped up well. It'll be worth it though with some fine snow to enjoy.

Happo-one now has base areas open which is great to see.

Light snow and cloud forecast for today and tomorrow we may get to see some sunshine, with a return of snow clouds forecast for around Tuesday.
