Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 782cm

Posted on Wednesday 30th April 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

After some strong winds yesterday that ended up messing up with multiple lifts and stuff, today should be much more pleasant and pleasing.

Indeed, we have blue skies and sunshine, less wind, and the same expected tomorrow too.

Funny: you can still slide back to base at Hakuba 47 on their narrow course, but they 'strongly advise' people to use the gondola back down! I think it's a bit of a pride thing; they traditionally want to keep that open for as long as possible every year. Indeed, they do it well!

Unfortunately we look set to get rained on Friday through Sunday, at least at times, but we can hope that the last two days of the season (Monday and Tuesday) might feature nice weather.

Today through Friday... normal weekdays in the middle of a Golden Week sandwich.

Saturday through Tuesday... national holidays.
