Saturday morning greetings from Hakuba.
We are now one week away from the planned opening dates of 4 major ski areas around Hakuba. There's not much of a base yet higher up on the mountains, so we are going to be needing a fair amount of snow for that to happen. Forecasts show some snow today, though nothing major, and then some on the mountains around mid-week. I'll keep you updated.
There is a lot of cloud around this morning, though some blue sky (at sun at times) away from the mountains and above the village.
Roads are partly wet but rain is holding off for the moment.
