Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 247cm

Posted on Wednesday 23rd January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning.

Anyone else enjoy yesterday? Day of my season so far I would say.

Marvel(l)ous. :)

The clouds gradually broke up yesterday during the day leaving us with a much clearer and beautiful evening with a bank of cloud remaining over the mountain backdrop.

There is a bit of snow to make a note of since the report yesterday morning, but no numbers are being reported by resorts apart from 2cm by Happo-one.

It is a rather grey and cloudy morning but the sun is shining through in some places.

While today might be relatively mild during the daytime, snow is due again tonight and there's more decent snow there on the forecast for Saturday too.

Regular decent snowfall please!
