New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 111cm
Posted on Wednesday 23rd December 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Hakuba.
There's some more (varying amounts of) snowfall to report this morning.
Lots of cloud around early on but there's increasing blue sky up there and it's bright. Should be a good out there this morning.
Today and tomorrow are going to be on the mild side - especially tomorrow with a high temp of about 7C forecast for the village - though a return to colder conditions and snow on Friday.
Normally we would be seeing a lot of Christmas things happening now and a very large number of foreign visitors in Hakuba. Things feel somewhat different this time round, for obvious reasons.
I know a lot of you reading this are doing so from overseas and were hoping to be here but can't. I feel for you and just hope that you'll be able to come in the not too distant future. In the meantime I'll do my best to keep a record of the season for you as you make plans.
