Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 720cm

Posted on Friday 21st February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

It is a cold morning, brrrrrr.

We had some blue sky earlier on, but it is now mostly cloud cover with some light snow falling in places. Then again, the sun seems to be trying to break through in places. So a mix of weather going on out there this morning.

Forecasts tell us to expect more snow across the next few days, particularly tomorrow.

Tomorrow is actually the start of a long weekend here in Japan as Monday is The Emperor's Birthday Holiday.

Much clearer skies - and milder conditions - are due from Tuesday.
