A very happy new year to everyone reading this.
We're enjoying continued fresh snow conditions here at the moment and it's expected to continue more at least for the rest of today and perhaps easing off tomorrow.
Some lifts at Hakuba Cortina closed early due to avalanche danger. A reminder that while deep snow conditions are obviously very exciting for us, we need to keep that safety first thinking at the front of our minds as well. Do take care.
For those looking forward to seeing the mountains and sunshine, the weekend should bring calmer and clearer conditions to enjoy. With all the new snow it should be an excellent weekend.
After the fun of last night I think I'm going to take it easy for the day today and take an relaxing onsen.
