New snowfall at base 15cm
Snowfall at base this season 15cm
Posted on Sunday 19th November 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Hakuba.
And what a good morning it is, with a layer of snow on the ground!
Yes, it was snowing yesterday and into the night - actually quite heavily at times - and this morning I have my first snow of the season to add to the reports. Around 15cm of it too in base areas. I can't find any info posted by ski areas this morning but I wonder how much there was at higher elevations. (Interesting how the snow that was hanging on trees around my place late last night seems to have gone. Some forecasts seem to indicate it might have turned to rain early morning. Unconfirmed, I was sleeping).
Anyway, great stuff. My gear is calling me...
Right now there is still some cloud around, but there's blue sky and sun at times too. With clearer skies due over the next few days the snow at lower levels may not (probably won't) last.
The next snow is due perhaps later in the coming week, around Friday. I'll keep you posted.
