Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 776cm

Posted on Wednesday 19th March 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

New snowfall into double digits this morning after starting to accumulate overnight and ski areas reporting up to 20cm of fresh out there. Excellent.

Tomorrow is Vernal Equinox Day and a national holiday. The forecast is for sunshine and so popular places might be busy... or certainly busier than a normal March weekday.

And there should be some very fun conditions to enjoy.

Just for fun and giggles, here is the lastest 'Hakuba Valley official website Tsugaike ski area snowfall data watch':

The current snow depth at Tsugaike is shown as 382cm.

The total accumulative snowfall for the entire season is 388cm.

And 1cm of new snowfall shown for today (the ski area is reporting 15cm on its social media this morning).

Useful!
