Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 192cm

Posted on Tuesday 17th March 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Hakuba.

Some more fresh snow to report along with beautiful blue skies this morning.

There are varying numbers - 40cm over at Tsugaike Kogen? - but whatever the numbers might be, I think we would be happy to have mornings like this during the peak season.

The Hakuba Sanosaka resort is now closed.

On their Japanese site they have put up a message which basically says this:

"With a general lack of snow and more heavy rain than usual, it has been a real struggle to maintain good conditions throughout the season and we apologise for the inconvenience to everyone".
