It was a blue sky start to the day yesterday but clouds gradually increased as the day went on and by evening we had mostly cloud cover over the mountains.
Did they bring us some snow this morning?
Yes they did!
There's 10+cm here in the village areas this morning and resorts around town are reporting up to 25cm on the upper parts of the mountains. Somewhat predictably, the Hakuba Cortina resort area in Otari wins the 'most new snow' award this morning with up to 30cm fresh reported by the resort.
It's a cloudy and grey morning in the village, light snow falling, temperature of around -4C and about 2m/s wind. Reduced visibility out on the slopes but generally shouldn't be fairly ok.
Snow showers likely through today and tomorrow before the skies clear once again for the weekend when we are due another likely spell of milder conditions.
For now though, some very nice fresh snow to enjoy.
