Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 351cm

Posted on Saturday 16th February 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Hakuba.

Recently it has been really very cold in a morning - noticeably less so this morning. Still hovering around 0C at the moment and hopefully it'll stay around there through the day today.

It was cloudy through the day yesterday and here's what the ski resorts are reporting this morning:

Hakuba Cortina: 1cm (base); 1cm (top)

Hakuba Happo-one: 5cm (top of Riesen)

Hakuba Goryu: 0cm (base); 10cm (top)

Hakuba 47: 0cm (base); 5cm (top)

So again, we can expect a modest amount of snow on the slopes with light snow falling this morning and just a dusting on lower base areas.

Looks like there's some very limited visibility early on. Take care out there.
