Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 260cm

Posted on Saturday 13th February 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

It was very warm up on the mountain even yesterday. Hakuba 47 said that as of 3pm at 1450m, it was 9C.

Fine weather for the day really with quite a bit of cloud around, but it felt more like April than mid February.

This morning as I write this it's +3C here at base and I'm afraid it's going to get really warm again, busting through into double digits down here in the village.

And to add to that, drizzly rain is falling.

We can expect this sad story to continue until later on in the day tomorrow but as we enter Monday it should quickly be getting much colder and we should be seeing new cm of snow piling up once again. Hopefully almost as if the weekend never happened!
