Temperatures dropped down to minus double figures overnight again and as of 9am it is around -6C here in Hakuba. So another good cold start to the day. And we have new snowfall to report as well from around the mountains. Cortina winning with an impressive 30cm being reported, with between 10-20cm being reported on upper slopes here in Hakuba. It should be a very fine morning.
We have magnificent clear blue skies as well this morning. Lovely.
(I'll try not to spoil things by mentioning that things are due to warm up from tomorrow and we might get some rain in the village before turning into snow around early Thursday... more on that tomorrow).
So really great at the moment for approaching mid-March as we are. I clearly remember this day three years ago actually - it's 3 years ago since the terrible earthquake and tsunami over on the Tohoku coastline. That was one scary day...

Reporting 20cm of new snowfall at Iimori; 8cm at Toomi; 15cm on upper slopes
