Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 17cm
Snowfall at base this season 363cm

Posted on Friday 10th February 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Hakuba, and what a morning it should be!

Lots of fresh new snow to play with, and it's very nice and light too. Conditions on the mountain should be top this morning.

Here's what the resorts are reporting...

Hakuba 47: 30-35cm

Hakuba Goryu: 20-30cm

Hakuba Cortina: 30cm

Hakuba Happo-one: 20cm

...and I have 17cm to report.

The only downer this morning is that strong northerly winds are preventing lots of top lifts from opening and so access to some areas not possible right now. Hopefully the wind conditions may ease off, though snow and wind is forecast for the day. And snow through the day tomorrow too. Actually regular snow looks set for the coming week. :)

Should be a great weekend. Take care out there, and have fun.
