Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 54cm
Snowfall at base this season 1666cm

Posted on Friday 25th February 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Well, what I said yesterday ended up being wrong... this morning the ski area reports 97cm of new snowfall on upper areas, with two thirds of that coming overnight. There's a fair amount on the ground here too.

Over 24m of snowfall this season up there. Just, wow.

Anyway yeah it was windy yesterday with the snow and this morning it is less so but there's still a wind about. And it is still snowing. I am wary of saying it but the forecast doesn't show much for today and none for tomorrow, and perhaps even slightly warmer temps too.
