Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 765cm

Posted on Thursday 1st February 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

It is a windy and relatively mild morning, with wet snow coming in and being flown around. Not very friendly conditions outside. Tomorrow is also due to be windy - possibly enough to affect some lifts.

As for temps, they are due to dip during the day today so hopefully that wet snow might become... nicer snow.

Lifts operating (planned):

All scheduled lifts operating but there may be some lift disruption due to wind today.

The Number 2 gondola is normally closed on weekdays.

Runs open (planned):

Most of the main runs should be open with some restrictions.

Scheduled to open tree runs: Unclear at the start of the day today due to wind.

All subject to change due to conditions.

Official snow depth (reported by the ski area):

260cm (top)

200cm (base)
