Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate
New snowfall at base 83cm
Snowfall at base this season 945cm
Posted on Saturday 15th January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.
Big numbers this morning to start the weekend.
How does almost 1m of snow on the mountain sound? And 83cm of it down at base. It was a day of wild conditions yesterday and that's what we are left with. Perhaps not great if you were here yesterday... much better if you are here this morning! The snow has eased off though it is still quite windy.
All lifts should be moving (though chance wind might still be an issue) and snow conditions should be top drawer.
The ski area itself is now reporting 1347cm of snowfall so far this season (!)
Courses open:
All normal courses open.
Planned tree run courses: Depends on conditions.
Lifts operating (subject to change):
All lifts plan to be open today
Official snow depth:
Upper: 435cm
Lower: 290cm
