Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 130cm

Posted on Monday 9th December 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

Yesterday was a full day of severe winds from morning to night. Although there was some snowfall it has not amounted to much accumulation on the ground, and I have measured only 2cm this morning. Today's weather is a real contrast and we are starting the day with clear skies and it should be a nice sunny day through the afternoon. Temperatures are cold at the moment but will rise well above the current -12c. Tomorrow and Wednesday are forecast to be warm days with some rain. The resort is reporting a snow base of 140cm.
