After a week of seemed like the return of Spring, the temperature turned south of the freezing mark and snow started to fall yesterday. It has continued snowing off and on throughout the night, covering over everything with a fresh blanket of white. It looks like Old Man Winter is not quite yet finished with Furano.
It's currently -3 and snowing, with about 5-10cm of accumulation, with higher accumulations in the upper elevations. Today looks like it will make it just above the freezing mark, with cloudy and cold skies overnight with temperatures bottoming out around -7. Tomorrow looks to be more of the same fine, white powder coming down off and on throughout the day. Fairly typical weather patterns for Furano Winter season, but it's nice to see the snow lasting so late into the season. With this much snow on the slopes (180cm official), it's hard to believe that April is only two days away!
