Good morning skiers and snowboarders,
Happy New Year's Eve-Eve (aka the day before New Year's Eve).
Looking good, Houston. Definitely looking good.
It snowed most of the day yesterday, and it's been snowing quite steadily for the last several hours, and it's definitely light and fwuffy. Given all that, I'm a bit surprised the snow reading for today is only 11 cm. Feels like more. "Heavy snow" forecast all day tomorrow. Such wonderful words.
Lots of people at the resort today. The New Year's crowd has definitely arrived. I had to park in the employees lot this morning! Far. Waaa-waa.
Should be lots of fun out there today. Visibility is lowish, no views for sure, but a very acceptable 500 meters. I'll take that.
Fireworks lovers should go to the base of the Furano side (New Furano Prince Hotel) by midnight TOMORROW night for a real kicker of a show to bring in the new year. If you prefer not-in-your-face fireworks, any vantage point where you can see the Prince hotel will be perfect to see the fireworks.
All that thinking of snow has started to pay off.
Think (more) snow.
All lifts except for Kitanomine magic carpet.
Night skiing until 7:30 in both Furano and Kitanomine Zones.
