Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 422cm

Posted on Saturday 2nd February 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

Winds were severe overnight and continued for hours. For now the wind seems to have passed by and left a pretty nice morning. Above there is blue sky mixed with cloud. The sun is out and is warming the village. There is a huge wind affect on the slopes from the wind. The 5cm of fresh snow on the ground is a mix of new snow and wind blown from roofs etc. With that sun and fresh snow and the absence of wind it is going to be a great morning.
