Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido
New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 329cm
Posted on Tuesday 28th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.
The forecast was spot on and we have woken up to 10cm of new snow in the village.
It is snowing heavily at the moment and the snow is accumulating quickly on the ground. Nedless to say with yesterdays 20cm, and todays 10cm, there are going to be some very inviting powder stashes. Visibility is fair but there will be some low light areas due to the cloud and snow precipitation. The current weather will continue throughout the day and the snow looks like it will continue all week.
Temperatures are not cold today but will dive down to double negatives tomorrow.
