The good news is that there was some fresh snow overnight which amounted to around 5cm at base level. Strong winds whipped up in the early hours of the morning so there will be much deeper stashes on the mountain itself. The winds are still persisting and because of this Kitanomine Gondola is on hold for now. Temperatures are quite warm but those winds are adding a substantial wind chill factor so don't underdress if you plan to head out.
