Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 425cm

Posted on Monday 22nd January 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

It is a cold morning and it won't get much warmer during the day. It is -9c now and will only rise up to -7c by midday, and just remember that is the temperature in the town so it will be a bit colder than that at the top of the resort. Furano received 12cm yesterday and this morning there has been a further top up of 7cm. It is certainly pretty heavy snow at the village level anyway. Looking up at the resort there is early morning cloud rolling down the slopes to the base level. This will probably lift later leaving a mainly overcast day.
