Snowfall at base this season 690cm
Posted on Sunday 21st February 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.
It's Sunday and it is looking great outside. The road is covered in 15cm of new snow in the village, which means there is going to be a very significant depth on the resort itself. If you have access to fats this is definitely the day to make sure you take them out. The strong winds did come through overnight but have passed and the village is calm at the moment, but winds will increase during the day and tomorrow morning the wind will be moderate.
Temperatures are in the negatives but still pretty warm for this time of year. The good news is that it will get colder as the day progresses. Snow is forecast to continue during the day, and it looks like another moderate dump is on the cards overnight. Skies are overcast but visibility is very reasonable.
