Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 372cm

Posted on Saturday 19th January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

Looking above it is partly cloudy with some big areas of blue sky. Sometime soon the sun will be hitting the village to warm us up a bit as well. There is more wind than I thought there would be today, in fact it is blowing very strongly. This may interfere with operation of the Kitanomine Gondola. There is a small amount of new snow which I have measured as 2cm. Looking ahead, tomorrow looks like it will be cloudy and a heavy snowfall is forecast for Sunday night.
