Snowfall at base this season 428cm
Posted on Monday 17th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.
The winds are back and at the moment are blowing around the mountain with moderate force. This means that Kitanomine Gondola operation will be suspended until the winds reduce.
Clouds are rolling over the tops and down the upper third of the mountain causing visibility to be a little limited at the top but it gets better as you head down the mountain. There has been 7cm of snow in the village but expect a compacting wind affect on that snow on the mountain. Overall it should be a good day but just remember to put on a extra layer to combat that wind as it does feel cold.
