Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 505cm

It is going to be a great Wednesday with the sun already starting to break through the cloud and the resort sparkling in the sun. Don't be fooled by the suns rays though, it is still very cold out there with -12c recorded at base this morning. It is snowing really lightly at the moment but it looks like it may stop anytime.

There isn't much to report in the way of new snow since yesterday - it feels unusual to say that given the snow bonanza Furano has had over the last couple of weeks. There is just a light dusting in the village but it is likely that there will be at least a few centimetres on the resort itself. More cloud should lift in the morning revealing more sun until late afternoon. Tomorrow will be cloudy again with increasing precipitation of snow, and Friday and Saturday are forecast to be at least partially sunny.
