It is a truly beautiful morning here in Furano. I write this while enjoying my morning coffee, bathing in the sunshine and looking at the crystal white vista outside. There are no clouds to be seen and only blue sky at the moment. Temperatures are very cold and there is 4cm of very light powder snow that has fallen overnight. Night skiing got started last night on the Prince Romance lift and the ski area was nicely lighted up for for first time this winter. I noted the snow makers were blasting into the night as there is still only minimum coverage on the lower slopes. I took a look at Kitanomine yesterday and although it is white from top to bottom from a distance, the lower slopes have grass and bush poking through the snow extensively, meaning another good dump of snow will be needed on that side before it can be opened.
