Many of you appear well traveled and no doubt have spent some time in the US boarding or skiing. This past winter I learned to snow board at WinterPark CO and Park City UT. I was also afforded some time to board in West Virginia. HUGE difference in east-vs-west snow. Currently I reside in NC where the snow flat out stinks.

Nonetheless, I am curious how US ski areas compare to around the globe for boarding and learning. This up coming 2006 winter I have the opportunity to relocate anywhere for the season. My husband is going back to Iraq and I would like to use this time to go on an adventure and spend the winter in an area that has some of the best boarding possible for my level. Some might say, hell, I'm a novice and any place is better than none. But after experiencing the soft powder of the western US, I certain don't want to isolate myself to the ice made available here in the mid east All input welcome.
