Attracting visitors from all over the globe, the festival is located in Odori Park in the heart of Sapporo, and boasts a fantastic array of ice sculptures. Sculptures vary in size from one metre, up to over three storeys in height. Created with ice and snow, by a range of international artists, the collection is breathtaking - especially at night! Sapporo weather can be cold, and the wind often biting, so warm clothing is a must. Good information is obtainable at: http://www.snowfes.com/english/index_e.html Last year warm weather resulted in melting, and festival organizers were battling to stop the limbs of various creatures from falling off.
