I really want to try snowboarding in Japan, but my travel companions don't want to go and I'd rather not go alone since my Japanese language skills aren't good. Also, do you have suggestions about day trip packages that include train, lift ticket and rentals? Or even overnight packages. Thanks! Link to post Share on other sites

For the easiest and quickest way up the mountain - go to a Japan Rail office or travel agency and get a 1 day round trip package to Gala Yuzawa. You just hop on the train at Tokyo station and it drops you off at Gala Yuzawa ski area. They have english instructions and staff there. It's super easy. Link to post Share on other sites
