Green as in environmentally friendly, not color. Back home many people are now replacing the normal bulbs with ones that are a bit more friendly to earth and the like. Do they have them here and anyone know what they are called in Japanese?

Thanks.

You can get them all over, but the standard CFLs by National, Hitachi etc. are still quite expensive.

Some 100yen shops have them but the ones I saw produce that horrible blue-white light that everyone hates fluorescent tubes for.

Your best bet in Japan is the ones made by a company called "Ohm". You can get a double pack for about 600 yen and they produce the same colour light as incandescents. In Nagano try your local Komeri or Cainz Home. Its the top one here, literally "light bulb colour". The same ones are sold in five-packs at Costco.

Ikea does compact fluorescents in smaller sizes (E17 etc) at reasonable prices
