Siren 0
Does anyone know any nice lodge up in Nagano one can rent and spend a quiet weekend with GF with a bit of outdoor? Something that, you know, with a living room or private onsen that overlooks a beautiful valley and no neighbour and probably built by a poet..

Siren 0
The markets are doing well at the moment but not really yet. I saw a TV programme a couple of years ago showing all those nice little lodges in the mountain - not very expansive but the locations and architecture were really very impressive. There was this particular one which overlooked a green valley and it was so beautiful when it rained. Should have taken down the details.
tsondaboy 0
Last time I went to a ryoukan that had "kasikiri rotenburo" (private oncen in the room) I paid something like 20000 yen/person for 1 night. It was a really beautiful place near simoda in Izu, not in Nagano. Here is the hp if you are interested. http://www.ikona-spa.com/ Highly recommended
Ocean11 0
I think what you need is a love hotel. Or you could probably just break into one of the cabins near Royal Hill. Once you've swept up the broken glass and chased out the crickets, it'll be happy squatting.
sava 0
20,000 ren per room? wow you're rich other than that, the only other useful advice I've got is to listen to Ocean11, I don't think he's ever wrong
gamera 0
No sava, tsondaboy described 20,000 yen per PERSON. Not per ROOM.
Siren 0
Thanks TB. Very nice but a bit too 'mainstream' for my taste but I will keep it for future reference.
